15 Healthy Wrap Recipes for Lunch

Lunch can be a tough meal to plan for, especially when you’ve got life going on in the background – work, kids, errands, you name it – and while we’d like to think we’re great at meal prepping for all meals each week, it seems like lunch inevitably falls through the cracks. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and there is nothing quite as special as having dinner with your whole family each night, so where’s the love for lunch? We’ve found it, and it’s a handheld delight: the wrap. Focus on the fillings, bundle it up in your wrap of choice, throw it in a bag and you’re ready to go. No muss, no fuss, and no utensils!

Lunch wraps have a lot of positive traits – healthy, lighter on the carbs than your typical sandwich – and are also blank canvases with which you can build just about anything. Want a Caesar salad but find the standard salad to be a bit boring? Pack it into a whole wheat wrap with chicken and you’ve got a well-rounded lunch, utensil-free.

While the fillings are of course a crucial part of the lunch wrap, it’s the wrap itself that is by far the most important element, and luckily, there are many types of wraps on the market that fall into just about any dietary column. Reach for whole wheat wraps, wraps that have whole grains, wraps that are grain-free and made with alternative flours like coconut, or ditch the wrap all together and use a sturdy lettuce cup instead.
