17 Vegan Recipes for Kids

Modified: Oct 28, 2020 by TheDiabetesCouncil Team · This post may contain affiliate links ·

Getting your family to stick to a vegan diet at home can be difficult, especially with kids who tend to be pickier eaters. Mac and cheese, sloppy joes, burgers, casseroles, and even pizza are simple dishes to put together, but is it possible to make them all vegan while keeping them delicious? With the right seasonings and dairy substitutes, any breakfast, lunch, or dinner staple can be transformed into a vegan dish, which may just so happen to be a healthier alternative.

If you really want to get your kids to appreciate a vegan diet, start with finding easy recipes to put together that you can walk them through as you make it. The fewer the ingredients, the more likely your kids will remember each one and maybe even ask for it during the week. And of course, let them help you cook! Showing your kids how to make lunch or dinner and walking them through how each ingredient is used will help them appreciate each one, and will make the final product even more special. Keeping your vegan meals nutrient-dense with vegetables and hearty legumes ensures that your kids are getting all the nutrients they need without loading them up with meat and dairy. Check out our list of 17 vegan recipes for kids that are guaranteed to get your family, even the staunchest of meat eaters, on the vegan train.
